Kilmovee10k 2025 – Part One: Finish Line Moments, Winners & Smiles in the Rain
Saturday, April 19th brought a burst of colour, energy, and community spirit to the quiet crossroads of Kilmovee, as hundreds took part in the 14th annual Kilmovee 10k & 5k in support of Mayo Roscommon Hospice and Kilmovee Shamrocks GAA.
Despite the damp conditions, spirits were anything but soggy – and the rain certainly didn’t spoil the effort, enjoyment, or sense of achievement felt across the finish line.
From seasoned runners chasing PBs to first-timers crossing their first ever finish line – Part One of our photo gallery captures some of the best moments, including winners of the main 10k & 5k races, as well as two special competitions that brought an extra layer of fun and pride to this year’s event.

🏆 Michael McDonnell Memorial Shield
A heartfelt tribute and local honour, this shield was once again up for grabs – awarded to the fastest Secondary, College or Uni Student/Teacher male and female finishers in the 10k, recognising talent within our own community. Congratulations to the 2025 recipient Daniel Anderson a student at St Nathy’s College.
👟 NEW! 5k Miyah Kelly National School Challenge
This brand new initiative was introduced to encourage students, teachers, and staff to represent their National, Secondary, Community School, College or University – whether running as a student or a teacher. Free to enter once registered for the 5k, it saw brilliant participation and friendly rivalry. A big well done to the inaugural champion John Flynn from Ballyfeeney NS.
From young children taking on the 5k with parents, to club athletes leading the charge in the 10k, Kilmovee was once again a showcase of heart, hustle, and hometown pride.
