On Sunday, 27th October 2024, the Kilkelly Kilmovee Magazine marked the launch of its 18th edition at Ireland West Airport Knock. This unique venue added to the evening’s charm as friends, families, and community members gathered to celebrate the hard work of Carmel Williams and her dedicated committee, who once again delivered an exceptional publication showcasing the rich heritage, stories, and achievements of the area.
The event was hosted by the charismatic Eunice Moran, who guided the evening with warmth and energy. Attendees were treated to outstanding musical performances by Kilmovee Comhaltas, Fr. Vincent Sherlock, and other talented guests. This year’s special guest, the renowned Pipers Cross Céilí Band, provided an unforgettable musical experience, bringing traditional Irish music to life and filling the airport setting with a lively, community spirit.
In addition to the evening’s entertainment, the massive raffle featured prizes generously sponsored by local businesses, with a grand 40″ smart TV awarded as the door prize, sparking excitement throughout the crowd. The launch drew people from across the parish and neighbouring communities, reflecting the publication’s continued importance and deep local connection.
This year’s high-gloss, high-quality magazine is truly a credit to all involved, packed with stories, photos, and articles that celebrate the vibrant community of Kilkelly and Kilmovee. We also want to extend our warmest wishes to Carmel Williams for a speedy and complete recovery, with high hopes to see her back for the 2025 edition launch.
Keep an eye on TV Ireland too in the not to distant future as Henry and crew were present recording the evening.
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this memorable event and publication, a true testament to community pride and unity!
